African Dancing

Each year, Mr. Diadie comes to Glenridge for a week to work with each grade on an African dance.  As the students get older, they learn more and more of the dance.  Today, 5th grade had their final session with Mr. Diadie and we saw some great dance moves.  Take a look!

Don't Miss the Supermoon Lunar Eclipse on 9/2715

Spend some time outside Sunday night to view the supermoon lunar eclipse.  This is a great connection to our unit on the sun, moon, and planets.  We will not see another until the year 2033 so don't miss it!

"Autumn paints in colors that Summer has never seen"

The 5th graders got together with their kindergarten learning buddies today and spent some time outdoors.  As part of their science curriculum, the kindergartners study how trees change throughout the seasons.  So, together the buddies observed various trees and made detailed sketches to record their observations of the trees in the Fall.  When they finished their sketches, the buddies worked together to gather bark and leaf rubbings.  It was nice to connect with each other over the study of nature.
